Over a half million dominoes were set up and toppled at Dominoland – Reaching The Limit in Nidda, Germany. It took 18 people 14 days to set them all up. 3 Guinness World Records were set when they fell – Most Dominoes Toppled Underwater, Tallest Domino 2D Pyramid and Largest Domino Portrait.
Most Dominoes Toppled Underwater
The most dominoes toppled underwater is 11,466. They fell in slow motion and formed an impressive color changing effect in the design of a sun. This exceeded the previous year’s record of 10,489 fallen dominoes.
Tallest Domino 2D Pyramid
The tallest domino 2D pyramid was over 9 feet high and consisted of 7,260 dominoes. It was the most difficult display to build in the entire project.
Largest Domino Portrait
The largest domino portrait featured Apple founder and visionary Steve Jobs. It covered an area of 775 square feet, consisted of 150,174 dominoes and took 4 days to set up. Before the image was toppled, the dominoes triggered 18 lamps which were placed around the portrait.
